Grandma's Broccoli and Garlic Penne

This recipe is from my mom and it's so simple and so awesome. It's a 15 minute meal, served with salad. Use the best ingredients you can find, since there are so few of them, each one really shines.

Grandma's Broccoli and Garlic Penne

1 lb penne
2 heads broccoli
¾ cup olive oil
10 large cloves garlic, sliced thin
1/2 stick butter, or more
½ cup grated parm, plus more for serving.

Boil water and add the penne.
Cut the broccoli into small pieces
Pour the oil in a large skillet and add the garlic slices until they brown
Add the broccoli to the skillet and cook until tender but firm (add a little water or white cooking wine if necessary)

Add the butter and penne to the broccoli and serve.
